Now I have 4 bays enclosure, where I maid RAID-0 with 2 disks and the other 2 bays are for changing the backup drives. But it is not enough. RAID is too small - I need to juggle with disks too often. So, is the Sans Digital enclosure good or not?

Pros: Small footprint. Works well so far. Had to get this for my 12G SAS drives. Older TRX model didn't see the 12G drives at all.
Cons: Front has a push button power switch unlike the power switch on the back of the older model. not a fan of push button power. they tend to fail more than toggle switches.
Main fan is smart, so supposedly only runs when needed. A couple drives got disturbingly warm before the fan kicked in, although SansDigital support said you can set it to run all the time.
Other Thoughts: This has drive trays, but Just an inch longer and a little wider than the old TRX case from SansDigital
Waiting for a 12g SAS controller bracket so I can use my non-raid 9300-8e. With a SFF-8088 to SFF-8466 cable, connected to a 9285cv-8e raid card, the enclosure works fine with four 6tb 12g drives in raid0 as a test. Got 180 MB/s sustained rate transferring large files.

Cons: 1st one was DOA - installed drives were not seen my the LSI 9300--4i4e HBA (host bus adaptor) . played around w/ cables, slots, etc., and the Sans Digital folks finally said send it back .. Newegg was awesome ---- the replacement box arrived overnight and works perfectly
Other Thoughts: if you have any of the new 12Gbs SAS drives and want to do any of them RAID, you may find you need to update your older external drive enclosre (box) .. my RAID10 initialization kept bombing b/c of signaling issues via the older back plane .. then get this box .. works great!! .. BUT beware doing four 6TB Seagate Enterprise 12Gbs SAS drives as RAID10 .. took literally a week to initialize!!! .. i kid you not
